This circuit is a culmination of a lot of IC audio amps and lots of experimentation. It is important that the voltage at R5 & R6 be half the source voltage. This can be accomplished by placing an appropriate resistor from the base of Q1 to ground, a value near 150K. Output class is about one (1) watt. -Diz, W8DIZ 20 Nov 2006 Diz, I may have to look into something similar to your design for the contest. It looks pretty good. I was thinking that a push-pull AF amp would be the way to go. I do have one question. What`s going on with 12 V connected to C3? I don`t understand the purpose of that at all. The only thing I can think of is an AC ground, but it would be easier to just go to ground. - Jason, NT7S 23 Nov 2006 C3 is used to roll off the high audio frequencies.
