Hello,

A 5 watt amplifier kit is on the way here and I was studying the assembly and schematic page, afterwhich I was confused about one matter and hopefully can be answered here.

The instructions say "Remove R4 when powered with 8 and 12 volts."

Is the amp circuit drawn on the page to show only 12v applied to J3 and routed through R4 to provide the 8v source thus eliminating J2?

Is it possible then to just power the amp with only a 12v source?
